Rebates for Home Energy Improvements

Utility companies are required by law to designate a portion of their budget for conservation improvement programs (CIP). Each natural gas utility develops its own conservation plan, offering a variety of programs to assist residential and business customers to become more energy efficient. The Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Energy Resources oversees CIP to ensure that ratepayer dollars are used effectively and energy savings are reported as accurately as possible.

A few communities offer additional funds in addition to your utility company rebate; call your city hall to inquire.

Financing for Energy Upgrades

There are many organizations that administrate various state subsidized loans for home improvements; some are specific for energy retrofits.
